London Limousines of Reno is a service of Sierra Chauffeurs Limited and features Mercedes S Class sedans and High End SUV's. We have been in business in the Northern Nevada and California area since 2005.
The company is owned and managed by John Townes, an expatriate Englishman with many years experience in the personal transportation business. Prior to bringing this exclusive service to Reno, John had a similar business in the Financial District of London UK, generally referred to as "The City" by locals. He had many contracts with the large international banks and insurance companies over a period of some 12 years.
For many years John was connected with the automotive industry both in the retail and wholesale side of the business. Over a 25 year period he worked for many famous named companies, including Mercedes Benz, BMW, VW and Volvo.
While working for Mercedes he was one of the originators of the Track Days events where members of the public get to drive on Race Tracks. John has demonstrated Mercedes and BMW cars on all the major UK race tracks, plus, the World Famous Nürburgring Nordschleife circuit. This is the most difficult race track in the World and used to be the home of the German Grand Prix until it was deemed too dangerous. It is 12.9 miles (20.8 kms) long and is used for testing virtually all the the high performance cars made today.
During his time in the industry John worked in the UK, US, Germany and Saudi Arabia.
In his younger days John was in the Royal Air Force and worked in the airline industry for some 8 years. Most of this time was with the World's largest airfreight company, The Flying Tiger Line. He worked as a roving station operation manager in the charter division most of this time and was lucky enough to work in most western European, North African and Middle Eastern countries. Plus, he spent a considerable time working in the US, Japan, The Philippines and Hong Kong.
John now brings his World travel experience and varied management skills to the Reno personal transportation scene. He enjoys the work so much that he has put off retirement for some 10 years now and plans to continue to do so as long as he is able to drive safely.
